Celebrating 25 years of NMD Bodyboards, the Ben Player XXV is a limited-edition performance model built with premium materials and some of NMD’s most advanced shaping technology.

Three-time World Champion Ben Player has spent years refining his equipment around speed, recoil and projection. The XXV combines his proven template with NMD’s Kinetic Polypro core, PFS-T reinforcement system, Quad Concave and WI-FLY tail to create a responsive bodyboard designed for high-performance riding.

Features

Core: Kinetic Polypro with Parabolic Gen 3 PFS Core

Kinetic Polypro is a lightweight, fusion-formed polypropylene core designed to provide fast recoil, projection, longitudinal stiffness and compression strength.

Constructed from premium 1.9 lb density polypropylene resin, the core uses high-pressure cell fusion to create a responsive, waterproof structure suited to warmer water conditions.

PFS-T™

PFS-T incorporates NMD’s PFS technology with angled beams running from the inside peg of the crescent tail towards the nose.

The beams are aligned with key pressure points around the hip, elbow and hand, allowing them to load during turns and release energy as pressure is reduced for increased recoil and projection.

Concave: Quad Concave

The Quad Concave combines two elements:

Central Double Concave – Channels water through the centre of the board to help maintain speed and keep the board higher on the wave face through bottom turns.
Outer Venturi Channels – Draw water from a wider entry into a narrower exit through the tail to increase flow speed and drive.

The Quad Concave is precision shaped using an AKU CNC shaping machine for consistent channel and concave profiles.

Stringer: CFT Stringer

A high-grade, lightweight filament-wound composite-fibre tube designed to increase board strength while providing spring-like recoil.

Deck

Wavecushion 8 lb PE deck with Q12 backing.

Slick

Surlyn slick bottom skin constructed from 1 mm DuPont Surlyn with a composite backing of 1.5 mm IXPE and 1.5 mm IXPP, giving a total thickness of 4 mm.

Tail: WI-FLY

The WI-FLY tail is designed to work with the Quad Concave to improve traction through bottom turns and lip drives.

Its deep-V shape uses shorter rails and an angled transition from the tail tips to the rails to help the board release more easily through tight spins and pocket manoeuvres.

Because the deep-V design removes volume from the tail area, NMD adds approximately 1/2" to the overall board length without changing the nose, wide point or tail width. For example, a rider who normally uses a 41.5" crescent-tail board would typically use a 42" WI-FLY model.
