Donald Takayama Surftech Scorpion 2 Surfboard 6'10" - Aqua

The Donald Takayama Scorpion 2 is a versatile mid-length surfboard based on Donald Takayama’s original Scorpion design. This 6'10" TufLite model combines a rounded nose, wide midsection and round pin tail, giving it a blend of paddle power, stability and manoeuvrability.

Although shorter than a traditional longboard, the Scorpion 2 carries volume through the front of the board to help with wave entry and glide. A slight rocker supports turning response, while the concave bottom helps generate speed and lift.

The board is built using Surftech’s TufLite construction, with an EPS foam core, fibreglass and epoxy resin. This construction is designed to provide a light, strong and ding-resistant surfboard for regular use.

The Scorpion 2 is suited to a wide range of conditions and can work for surfers who want more paddle power than a shortboard without moving into a full-length longboard. Its single fin plus FCS II quad fin setup also allows different configurations depending on the conditions and preferred feel.

Donald Takayama was one of the most influential shapers in modern longboarding, and the Scorpion 2 reflects his approach to combining classic longboard elements with more compact, performance-focused designs.
