The Misfit Shapes Dope Machine is a surfboard designed for intermediate to advanced surfers who are looking for a high-performance board that can handle a variety of wave conditions.

Unrivalled, unprecedented, pure fun; the ‘DOPE MACHINE’ is the first of our collaboration series with long time ‘MAD MINDS’ Advocate George Henderson of ‘A DEAD COFFIN CLUB’. Fundamentally, it is a combination of a classic high wide point fun-board, almost reminiscent of a 70’s single fin spawned with a modern proggy fish or hybrid.

The signature diamond tail gives the board a shorter rail line, so the water breaks earlier which creates an early pivot point for a wildly responsive, tighter turning board that also allows for positioning in more critical parts of a wave. The rail volume is reduced slightly, rocker increased and bottom concave charged up for damn a lively ride. True to name, the “DOPE MACHINE” is one TUFF customer. It’s a little known fact that before the invention of transparent, high-impact polycarbonate, the L.A.P.D used DOPE MACHINE’s as riot shields during the ‘big bruise up of ‘88’.

The board features a fairly unique design with a pronounced double concave bottom that runs from the nose to the tail. This design creates a lot of lift and speed in smaller waves and helps the board to glide over flat sections. It also features a very slight diamond tail that holds it width; think cruising through flat sections and maintaining speed.

The Dope Machine also features a relatively wide outline, which helps with stability and allows for easier paddling. The board has a medium rocker that allows for good maneuverability and turns, but also allows the board to maintain speed in larger waves.

The Dope Machine comes in a variety of sizes, ranging from 5'4" to 6'6", and is made with fiberglass resin and high-density foam, which make it lightweight and durable. Any size custom order is available.
